About
Tunca Pekcan is a drummer, songwriter, and independent music producer born in 1984. His musical journey began in primary school, where he first discovered his passion for rhythm and sound. Throughout his teenage years in Turkey, he explored various instruments, but it was during high school that he found his true expression behind the drums—a connection that has driven his artistic path ever since.
Early in his career, Tunca became an active figure in the local music scene, performing with various bands in underground venues and bar gigs. His passion for original music led to the release of two demo albums with the band Denklem, reflecting the raw energy of Turkey’s alternative rock movement at the time.
In 2003, he moved to the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (T.R.N.C) for his university studies, where he continued to grow as both a musician and community organizer. With his band The Tunes, he co-created the Rock Contest, a platform to encourage university bands to perform live, and later organized Rock4Share, a charitable event supporting the Nicosia Orphanage through music.
Tunca also appeared regularly on national television with the band EagleHeart, performing live on Gındırık Show, T.R.N.C’s first TV talk show. His versatility as a drummer extended into studio work as well, including a session performance on Panarmos’ single “Uçurtma”.
In recent years, he has continued performing across the island with various artists and as part of the acoustic fusion band The Kiwi (formerly named Acoustic4). In addition to live performances, he has expanded into music production, recording cover songs, jingles, and releasing his own original work.
In 2024, he released his debut solo single titled “Sen ve Ben”, marking a new chapter in his creative journey as a songwriter and producer. The single blends heartfelt lyrics with a warm, organic sound, reflecting his evolving musical identity.
Tunca remains dedicated to refining his craft and currently studies under the legendary Turkish drummer Cengiz Baysal. His work is driven by a passion for rhythm, authenticity, and emotional storytelling through music.
